වික්ටෝරියා ප්‍රාන්තයේ ක්‍රියාත්මක වින්දිතයන්ට මූල්‍ය සහන සැලසීමේ ප්‍රතිපාදන යටතේ තවත් අපරාධ කිහිපයකට ගොදුරු වූ වින්දිතයන්ට සහන ලබාදෙන නීතියක් සම්මත වී තිබෙනවා.
මේ අනුව යන අපරාධ සඳහා ගොදුරුවූ තැනැත්තන්ටද මුදල් සහන හිමිවීමට නියමිතයි.
මීට අදාළ යෝජනා අද වික්ටෝරියා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේදී සම්මත කෙරුණා.
එම නීති ලබන වසරේ සිට ක්‍රියාත්මක වනු ඇතැයි අපේක්ෂිතයි.
මෙහිදී සිදුකල තවත් වෙනස්කම් කිහිපයක් :
- The time limit in which victim-survivors of sexual assault or family violence can make a claim will be extended from two years to 10 years
- Children exposed to family violence will be recognised as victims in their own right
- The current practice of pooling financial assistance for bereaved families will end to reduce trauma and conflict between family members
- A range of criminal offences that are not currently covered by existing law, including sex offences such as upskirting, grooming and image-based abuse offences, will be included in the scheme
